Our mother Serafina Iacovella passed away on Thursday, January 25th, after a long illness with Alzheimer. She was born in San Vincenzo, Chieti, Abbruzzo , Italy in Abbruzzi. She was 93 years old. Our family, Augusto, Serafina, Luciana and Anna came to America in 1956. Life in America was very difficult at first, but with all of us being together, we managed to make our life here a very happy one. Mom worked as a seamstress for 50 years. She enjoyed her work but the family was what kept her thriving and happy. She loved to cook for her family and made many meals for friends. She loved her girls, Anna and Lucy, then came her boys, the sons in law, Salvatore and Richard. Her life was full but when her grandchildren came along she was filled with gratitude and love. Serafina lost the love of her life, her husband Augusto, 32 years ago. She is survived by her children, 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. She leaves behind to mourn her loss, loving daughters Luciana (Sal) Morra and Anna (Richard) Liberatore. Cherished grandchildren Marc (Christine) Morra, Adam (Daniela) Morra, Andrea (Matthew) Mistal, Thomas (Olivia) Liberatore and David Liberatore and loving great grand children Zacheri, Tori, Joseph, Julia, Jaymes, Sophia, Sonny, Serafina and Gabriel.
We are thankful and grateful for all your love and support during this period of struggle for the family. Serafina is in a better place and she has finished her work here on earth and is now enjoying her rewards in Heaven.
