Vito E. SioufasApril 27, 1971 ~ September 4, 2017 (age 46)
Vito Sioufas, beloved son, brother, uncle and friend; passed away suddenly during the evening of Monday September 4th 2017 at the age of 46. Vito, was a life-long resident and proud son of the Pelham Bay neighborhood of the Bronx. He attended Our Lady of the Assumption elementary and middle school and St Raymond High School for Boys. Growing up, Vito worked for several local small businesses and built over the years many strong and lasting friendships with their patrons. He eventually become employed at Loews as a data center operator and then at Verizon as a lineman. Vito is survived by his parents, older brother, younger sisters, their spouses and children, as well as his dearest girlfriend of many years and her son. He also leaves behind his beloved canine friend, Lucia.
Vito found great happiness and enjoyment in being surrounded by his family and friends. He was adored by his nephews, nieces and “almost-son”. Vito was and always will be a one of a kind, his humor alone could bring a smile to anyone’s face no matter what the situation. He was respectable, honest and caring. You could always count on having a good time when you spent time with him. Vito also leaves behind many strong friendships with people who have remained close since their childhood years.
Growing up in the Catholic tradition, we all hope to meet once again, in a place free from anxiety, want and pain. For those wishing to do so, in lieu of flowers, his family kindly suggest that donations be made in Vito’s name to St Jude Children’s Research Hospital of NYC or the Humane Society of Westchester.
