Frances Woods (nee Pidustwa) of the Bronx, New York passed away in her 93rd year on Friday, September 28, 2018.
Fran was born in Connecticut, lived a short time in Manhattan and then spent the rest of her life in the Bronx. A real Bronx girl, she knew her way around the city by subway, bus and taxi. A real city girl, she never learned to drive. Fran worked as an executive secretary at Treadwell Corporation for over thirty years. Clearly a valued part of the 'Treadwell Family', Fran went to the annual Christmas party and received lovely remembrances regularly. This after being retired more than thirty years! We know it meant a lot to Fran to be included all this time. Fran was always ready and open to new and exciting adventures. She went with her husband, Jimmy, on his fishing trips and summer vacations in the car. She did not let her age slow her down. In her 80's she went snowmobiling for the first time, soaring in a two place glider and jet skiing, as a passenger, at 91. She enjoyed it all, including rifle target shooting. She was open to anything that came her way. She had the gift of being able to make friends anywhere she went. She would strike up a conversation with a stranger sitting next to her and know that person's life story in ten minutes. Fran was married to the love of her life, the late Jimmy Woods, for 58 years. She is survived by her nieces and nephews and their children and grandchildren. Fran will be missed.
