Maurice P. Reynolds

November 26, 1934 ~ April 30, 2018 (age 83)

 

Maurice P. Reynolds passed away peacefully on April 30, 2018.  He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, Theresa (nee Irwin). He was a loving father to Regina Radvanski and her husband John, Margaret Reynolds Stapleton, Rita Reynolds Silverberg and her husband Jim and son-in-law Bill Stapleton.  Known as Poppy to his nine grandchildren, Maurice attended innumerable games, concerts, musicals and school events over the years.  His grandchildren Christina, Erin, Kiera, Kerry, Mary Kate, Elizabeth, Owen, Jamie and Jack were a constant source of pride and happiness.  Maurice was the son of Michael and Bridget Reynolds and was blessed with a large family.  He is also survived by his brother Thomas Reynolds and his wife Mary, brother William Reynolds, sister Teresa Corcoran and her husband Jack, sisters-in law Maureen Reynolds, Patricia Reynolds, Anne Reynolds, Kitty Irwin and brother-in-law Paddy O’Rourke.  He was predeceased by his brother John Joe Reynolds, brother Michael Reynolds and his wife Chris, brother Kevin Reynolds, sister Kathleen McKenna and her husband Tom and in-laws Anthony Irwin and his wife Margaret, Norah O’Rourke, Agnes Timlin and her husband David, Michael Irwin and his wife Bridie, John Irwin and dear niece Patricia Reynolds Walters RN.  He had many nieces and nephews who will miss his quick wit and the many quiet kindnesses they have experienced over the years.  Born in Leitrim Ireland, Maurice emigrated to the United States in 1955.  He spent over 30 years plying the waters of New York with Circle Line Sightseeing Yachts and proudly represented his union. Dad was a great supporter of continuing education and always had a new book and the day’s newspapers on his coffee table.  Maurice’s immediate family has been greatly comforted by the tributes that have been shared and posted by his family and friends. 
In lieu of flowers please send donations in Dad’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association.

 

Family and friends are invited to McNulty Funeral Home, Inc. 3006 Middletown Road Bronx, New York 10461 on Friday, May 4, 2018 from 2:00 - 5:00 and 7:00 - 9:00 Pm for visitation.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Maurice at St. Francis Xavier Church on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 10:00 AM.  Interment will follow at St. Raymond's Cemetery in the Bronx, New York.
