William L. Kauschinger

May 1, 1935 ~ June 16, 2018 (age 83)

 

 

 

William L. Kauschinger of the Bronx, New York passed away in his 83rd year at his residence.  He was born in the Bronx, New York on May 1, 1935 to Joseph and Susan (nee Waters).  He was the beloved husband of the late Stella (nee Schomer) who predeceased him on August 31, 2012.  Loving father of Karl, Robert and Bill (Monica).  Cherished grandfather of  Kevin and Ryan.  He was also the devoted brother of the late Joseph and Marilyn.  William enjoyed an illustrious 22 year career with the United States Navy, having served in Korea and Vietnam.  After his service to his country, William became an electrical repairman who worked on oil tankers at the Brooklyn Navy Yards and also had a wonderful 25 year career with the MTA as a road car inspector.  Throughout his 22 year career with the Navy, William was awarded numerous medals and was the recipient of  The National Defense Service Medal, The Navy Occupation Service Medal, The Good Conduct Medal (1st, 2nd and 3rd), The Purple Heart, The Presidential Unit Medal, The USN USMC Medal, The Navy USMC ACH Medal, The Vietnam Service Medal and The Vietnam Campaign Medal.

 

 

Family and friends are invited to McNulty Funeral Home, Inc. 3006 Middletown Road Bronx, New York 10461 on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 and Wednesday, June 20, 2018 from 4:00 - 8:00 PM for visitation.  Family and friends are asked to gather at McNulty Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday, June 21, 2018 at 9:30 AM before leaving for the Woodlawn Cemetery where the United States Navy honor guard will be present to commemorate William's service to his country.
